Cannes Film Festival 2018 will not disappoint – expect film premieres, expect high fashion and expect sparkling superyachts.
Cannes Film Festival and Monaco Grand Prix by yacht
Undeniably, Cannes Film Festival is one of the most prestigious events on the Mediterranean yachting calendar and a Cannes Film Festival yacht charter is the unsurpassed option to experience the action up close. The crème de la crème of the entertainment industry head to the French Riviera to mingle at Cannes Film Festival then continue the party at Monaco Grand Prix later in the month, therefore demand for yacht berths is extremely high.
Some of the world’s most magnificent yachts have appeared in films such as Casino Royale, Syriana, Skyfall or The Bourne Identity, so marrying exotic locations with spectacular yachts is a seamless journey of film-inspired indulgence. Imagine lounging on the sundeck, taking the tender ashore to treat clients or friends at the Côte d’Azur’s finest restaurants or drinking Krug on the aft deck with a French Riviera backdrop.

Local charter broker advice is pivotal to secure an enviable mooring position and a yacht that meets your budget and requirements, whether you dream of hosting an intimate cocktail party with canapés or a grand-scale party with panoramic sea views.
Luxury Life International spoke to Charter Broker Adam Reynolds at 212 Yachts about the popularity of yacht charters during this high-profile event. Adam says, “There are few activations available at the Cannes Film Festival, if any, that have as great an impact on your brand as a yacht charter. Beyond the obvious, already significant opportunities to brand your yacht with flags, banners and decal ensuring the many of thousands of visitors to the Palais des Festivals take note of your presence, every year the biggest and best events are hosted on yachts in the Port and the Bay. An expertly executed yacht charter ensures your brand remains in the spotlight among key stakeholders well after the Cannes Film Festival is over. Your brand remains central to their stories about the Festival, and that is what good branding is all about.”

For after parties ashore, those in the know head to Vanity Fair, Caroline Scheufele’s (Co-President and Artistic Director of Chopard) annual private dinner and the amfAR Gala at Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc which are A-list celebrations.
